Lilacs

One of the most wonderful things about spring is the lilacs. Lilac has to be my favorite scent. I can stand in the bushes and just inhale that lovely fragrance.

Here are some of my lilacs.

Federalist Papers

This convention composed of men who possessed the confidence of the people, and many of whom had become highly distinguished by their patriotism, virtue and wisdom, in times which tried the minds and hearts of men, undertook the arduous task. In the mild season of peace, with minds unoccupied by other subjects, they passed many months in cool, uninterrupted, and daily consultation; and finally, without having been awed by power, or influenced by any passions except love for their country, they presented and recommended to the people the plan produced by their joint and very unanimous councils.

a quote from John Jay, Federalist Papers #2

Would that our legislators, presidents and judges of both political parties had these motives when governing, leading and issuing rulings.

Kittens

Here are the two kittens that are the latest batch of kittens. They are hissy little sausages with pointy tails, four little legs and two ears.
We want them slightly socialized, but not hanging around at the door and trying to get in the house all the time.
On the farm, cats are a necessary. They keep the mice and the rabbit populations in control. AND we seem to have less of a snake problem when we have cats about.

Spring Is Here

Spring is finally really here. It's happy dance time. We have so many false starts and disappointments. BUT I know that spring has truly arrived when the hills become that beautiful almost painful spring green.

I spend a lot of time just drinking it in. It feeds my soul to see God's wonderful plan for His earth in action each spring. How arrogant to think that we can affect how He has planned the workings of this planet.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:36 that we cannot make one hair on our head white or black. (I don't want to hear comments about hair dye either, LOL, you know what this means) How then could we, in our pathetic human fraility and staggering inepititude, change the climate of a whole planet? The answer is simple and obvious, we can't. We may dirty the air a bit, but we cannot and never will be able to cause the planet to heat or to cool. It has been doing that, just as God planned when he created it, since the beginning of time. Humble yourselves before the Creator.

Drink it in and sing praises to God. Not for what he has done, but for who He is. The Creator. I worship the Creator, not the creation. It is good.

Faith

This is one of my favorite phrase stamps. There is a lot in my life lately that has not been easy, but with faith in God and by God's grace those things have been possible.

The background is done with foliage stamps by Fred B. Mullet. The phrase stamp is by River City Rubber Works. I used fine line black embossing powder. The lattice border is a dye cut from the Cuttlebug line. It was cut in white card stock then sponged the same green as was used on the foliage. I also used that green to sponge around the edges to create a subtle frame.

Hi Karen!

My dear friend Karen and I attended a Lucy McGoo Day Retreat in Lafayette CO last spring. We had so much fun and learned so much. I had one of the attendees take a picture of us. It was so "cute" that I made a card of it for each of us.

The frame look in the photo was done in PSP.
The phrase is computer generated and the papers are from a scrapbook slab.

Do you have some great pictures of you and friends? They make great cards.
